Voting stations in local schools, like the one above, were opened on Sunday for municipal and state elections here in Baja California Sur on February 6th, 2011.  Just under 420,000 citizens were elegible to vote in these elections for governor, mayors for BCS’s 5 municipalities and 16 state congressmen.  IEE, the state electoral institute, was hoping to have a voter turnout of at least 60%.  Voting stations were opened at 9:00 in morning and will close at 5:00 pm.  Preliminary results should be available after 8:00 pm local time.
