Red Tide Alert in the bay of La Paz

There is a red tide alert for the bay of La Paz put into effect by the State Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risk (COEPRIS).

State health authorities have decided to implement a ban on the consumption of shellfish extracted from the La Paz bay area seeking to prevent an outbreak of poisoning.
This is a preventive measure to avoid risks to the health of the population.
The ban includes a prohibition on the extraction, sale and/or consumption of shellfish which includes clams, mussels and oysters that were extracted in the area until COEPRIS can determine through laboratory analysis that marine biotoxins are no longer present.
