Over 58 of us met on October 25th, 2012 for the Taste of Baja Gourmet Luncheon sponsored by The Grand Heritage Hotel at the Mosaic Restaurant at CostaBaja.
Mujeres Ayudando a Mujeres, A.C. wishes to thank our sponsors for this incredible opportunity to spread a little sweetness in the community. A reporter from local Channel 8 interviewed Benita, the owner from the Shelter and myself.  This was all arranged by Cuquita Lupercio, Esthetica Cuquita.  All those who watch Canal 8 on October 26th will know about the Shelter for Women and Children and Mujeres Ayudando a Mujeres.
This was a buffet style luncheon filled with the catch of the day with tiny asparagus, mushroom risotto and potato cakes, grilled chicken breasts, fresh spring salad with goat cheese and balsamic dressing and for dessert, mango mousse. All were served with different types of jellies from the Taste of Baja collection.
Free recipes were handed out to all those who attended. The recipes and jam are available upon request at
During the course of the luncheon the ladies enjoyed a short presentation by Johnathan Gleed and Marisa Miramontes from Baja Bioregional, a new ecological development company. The speakers briefly spoke about their new initiative, Sembramos La Paz (Let’s Grow La Paz). This company, via seminars and workshops, offers eco education products that will teach people how to grow their own abundant food garden, how to process, conserve and prepare natural produce, and how to harvest water at home. More information is available from their website: and
A huge thank-you to all who came out for the luncheon.  The reviews at the tables about the food were incredible.
Next luncheon is at Azul Marino at CostaBaja with the same menu, fresh fish and salad on Thursday, November 29th at 1:00 p.m.  You can spend the first hour at the 3rd Annual Christmas Arts and Crafts Sale, taking place on November 29th and November 30th.
