Move over Redondo Beach and make room for Playas de Rosarito. On November 19th, relations between the two cities in Mexico will be formally announced as Sister Cities, with La Paz looking to expand their Sister Cities program through local city council and the Municipal Tourism department.

Playas de Rosarito, also know as Rosarito, is located in the northwestern part of Baja California, just south of Tijuana.  It has a population of just under 100,000.

La Paz’s relationship with Redondo Beach, California has been very successful with the American City. Ties between the two fire departments in particular, with the exchange of training and equipment, is something both cities take pride in.

La Paz also kicked off their first ever-international tourism campaign in Redondo Beach in June of 2011.  La Paz hopes that the collaboration planned with Playas de Rosarito will help with the, “exchange of experiences in government, tourism, management and successful projects to benefit both Paceños and Rosareños.”
