This is exciting news folks! A group of La Paz locals have put together a new jazz festival that they hope will grow into a multi-day annual event!
Jazz Fest La Paz will be held on the beach at Playa Coromuel, April 1st from 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
I caught up with one of the organizers at Mi Cantina Restaurant and Bar in El Centenario to find out more. “The idea is to strengthen the jazz scene here in La Paz,” said Pablo Ahuja, one of the event’s organizers. He along with Nicolas Pérez and Edmundo Pedrasta have chosen nine acts so far, who’ll be playing classic jazz, Latin jazz, electronic jazz, and more.
In addition to one of a kind jazz jams the festival will also be serving delicious food from a variety of local restaurants and bars including Mi Cantina Bar and Restaurant, Beer Box La Paz and La Perla Negra, as well as offer locally sourced wine and craft beer.
Jazz Fest La Paz is still looking for more sponsors and vendors to make this one-day only event culture rich! Their main sponsors are Soluciones Profesionales, Mi Cantina and La Perla Negra.
Interested? Please find “Jazz Fest La Paz” on Facebook and let them know how you would like to participate in La Paz’s very first jazz festival. For information to follow.
