“2012 will be a year of great challenges for Baja California Sur and together, like a family, we can move forward by working hard everyday and strengthening our goals during the next few months of the year to see them through,” Governor Marcos Covarrubias Villaseñor Covarrubias said. Governor Covarrubias Villaseñor was back to work on January 2nd, 2012 and in an interview to kick off the new year, accompanied by his wife María Helena Hernández de Covarrubias and children, he expressed the importance of the need to work hard everyday, to spend as much time as we can as a family and do things together to be able to overcome the problems and challenges that we face today in our society. He indicated that 2012 will be the year in which he will be able to strengthen his committment to move forward for a better Baja California Sur as there are many projects in process and actions being taken that will allow for better opportunities and a better way of life for Sudcalifornianos. He also said that during the first 8 months of governing, his government, without precedent, invested in infrastructure in education, health, the pavement of streets and higways, rural development, sport and in social projects that will benefit all 5 of the municipalites in BCS. He expressed his satisfaction that his governemnt maybe finally able to deal with historical problems that face the state such as the lack of potable water in northern rural areas and paved and dignified roads to isolated communities.  He also is proud of having helped name Los Cabos as the host of the 2012 G20 Summit, which will without a doubt be a huge promotion for BCS.
