Leonardo González, a naturalist photographer specializing in marine life and landscapes, opened his photographic exhibition, “En un Respiro” on November 16th at the NIM Restaurant, La Paz.

Of the 60 or so photographs exhibited, 30 images were offered for auction, with all proceeds donated to the campaign “Espíritu Santo es parte de ti”, of which Gonzalez is a core member. Over 200 people attended this very special event and their generosity raised an impressive $1800 US for this important cause.

Originating from Venezuela, Leo has spent seven years capturing images in the Sea of Cortez, with special emphasis on the drive for recovery of marine life at Archipelago Espíritu Santo and the successful recovery of Cabo Pulmo. His passion for underwater photography has taken him all over Mexico, but his favorite place is Baja California Sur.

“One of the best ways to move the public to love and care for nature is to bring it within the reach of as many people as possible, either in the form of videos or photographs” says Gonzalez. In this he is certainly on the path to success.
