It is Election Day in BCS!
Mexican citizens go to the polls today to elect their governor, local deputy and mayors in the states of Baja California Sur, Querétaro and Michoacán. In Baja California Sur, elections for governor, the state legislature (21), and five municipal presidents take place. Mayors, deputies and senators are elected for a single, three-year term, while the president and governors are elected for a single, six-year term (source: The Baja Citizen). The sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages in La Paz is suspended from midnight Saturday until 9 a.m. Monday. The sale of alcoholic beverages in restaurants, bars and nightclubs is suspended from 10 p.m. Saturday until 9 a.m. Monday.
The Baja Citizen doesn’t support any candidate or political party. We just thought this picture was too cute.
