Apostolis Greek Restaurant

Luiza Lanoy

If you haven’t tried Apostolis, La Paz’s first Greek Restaurant, you are missing something special. Apostolis is located on Madero between Morelia and Victoria, downtown La Paz. Twenty-four of us had lunch last week in this quaint little restaurant with its very Greek decor of bright yellow walls and blue table coverings.  The painted grape vines on the wall and decorative pates around the arches make this restaurant very unique and inviting.
A special thank-you to the owner, Chef Apostolis Blougouras, and the staff who went out of there way to ensure that our meal was just so and served in a timely manner.
Our meal started with humus and pita bread on the table. This was followed by a delicious and fresh lemon/chicken/rice soup. The main course was Chicken Slovaki served with lettuce, tomatoes and a special sauce on pita bread along with authentic Greek salad. The entire dining experience was great. At our table, two ladies ordered dessert a ¨creme brulé ¨, which was excellent. The wines were very reasonably priced. I had a glass of red wine, which was very good.
This restaurant is definitely a keeper. The maximum capacity is 30 people. We’ll be back next summer when our numbers are smaller.
One of our ladies wrote to me that afternoon.  Here is what she had to say about her experience at Apostolis. “Thanks again Miss Luiza! I enjoyed myself, loved the soup, loved the pita, and loved it all. . . will most certainly go there again. Oh and the salad was the best salad of any of the salads I have eaten in ALL of the ladies luncheons, by the way. The only thing I missed was dessert – baklava would have been divine”
Our next luncheon for the month of September will be on the13th starting at 12:15 at La Concha Hotel.
I will also be taking reservations for a special Mexican Fiesta on September 15th, for an evening of dining and dancing with our partners at Los Tamarindos Garden. Los Tamarindos Garden is offering a choice of 3 Mexican dishes for $150 pesos per person.  Ceci is also providing folkloric dancing, musicians and other treats for our dining and dancing pleasure. Please make your reservations with me for either event as soon as possible at
