The La Paz Section of the Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals (AMPI) attended the National Association of Realtors© Conference and Trade Show in Anaheim, California last week. After months of preparation and 21 hours over 4 days of actual showtime at the Trade Show…the question comes up. “Was it worth it?” The answer, from all our AMPI members who participated is YES!

The Trade Show had nearly 20,000 attendees and the La Paz group were able to collect more than 400 business cards from people interested in learning more about La Paz. There was also plenty of interaction with many National and International AMPI/NAR leaders and bridges were built for future relationships.

AMPI La Paz was the only AMPI sponsored booth at the Show and that fact did not go unnoticed. The booth was home to plenty of photos and banners showing off La Paz as beautiful and tranquil tourist destination as well as a 55″ LED TV playing more than 140 minutes of video promoting La Paz.

AMPI La Paz goal was simple; to introduce La Paz and encourage attendees to come here, vacation, discover the wonderful lifestyle, scenic beauty, affordable cost of living, competitive real estate pricing and more. Simply put…mission accomplished.

Of course, the mission was accomplished with the help of several, including Jim Donahoe, Tierry Moine, Luis Rojas, Mauricio Montes de Oca, Alexander Ogilvie and Norma de Gaytan. Luis Palacios from the BCS Secretary of Tourism provided a significant portion of the funding for the booth and Ana Garcia from EMPRHOTUR offered the use of the banners and produced the “Discount Rate Card”.

Participating hotels in La Paz agreed to provide discounted room rates to encourage new visitors to La Paz and CostaBaja provided funds, a vacation package and sponsored the trips for show staff.

Gaytan Legal Services and Amistad Real Estate provided a second vacation package for a draw and Steve Byers of Haciendas Palos Verde sponsored the La Paz polo shirts worn by show representatives.

AMPI La Paz representatives agree that it was well worth the time and effort to represent La Paz in California and they look forward to hosting and touring attendees here in Baja Sur’s capital city.
